Ghana’s rap king Sarkodie is calling on Ghanaians to purchase music from artists instead of downloading it for free to help them to make money.

According to Obidi, many Ghanaians think downloading music online for free doesn’t cost anything but it actually does.

Sark tweeted that such downloads puts money in the pocket of the rich executives at telcos such as MTN, Airtel-Tigo and Vodafone whilst starving the artist instead.

“Fans feel like they getting music for free but actually you not… @MTNGhana x @VodafoneGhana x @airteltigoghana and these networks are making the money from your data while your favorite artists are making nothing from your purchase … Think about it” he tweeted.

The tweet was part of a lengthy rant about music by Sarkodie during which he took jabs at bloggers also for uploading free songs of artists when it’s released.
