Two games, two draws. Any hope that Ghanaians had in the Black Stars to stop their recent cycle of disappointments seem to have been sorely misplaced.
After two group games in Egypt, the Stars have only managed two draws and look sorely out of form ahead of the final group game against Guinea-Bissau.
The Black Stars and the Indomitable Lions fought to a goalless draw in their Afcon Group F game in Ismailia earlier tonight.
However, despite a couple of changes including the much touted insertion of Kwadwo Asamoah into the first X1, the Stars remained listless, unable to play the sort of free-flowing, quality football Ghana has become known for.
Both sides had chances to win, but that final quality ball never came and the game ended in a goalless draw.
Ghana now needs a win in the final group game against Guinea-Bissau. Definitely a winnable game but the performances of the Stars so far doesn’t even inspire confidence, even if they qualify to the next round.
