The Black Stars and the Indomitable Lions fought to a goalless draw in their Afcon Group F game in Ismailia earlier tonight.

The Black Stars, reeling from their unexpected 2-2 draw against Benin, sorely needed a win to get their campaign back on track.

However, despite a couple of changes including the much touted insertion of Kwadwo Asamoah into the first X1, the Stars remained listless, unable to play the sort of free-flowing, quality football Ghana has become known for.

Both sides had chances to win, but that final quality ball never came and the game ended in a goalless draw.

Ghana now needs a win in the final group game against Guinea-Bissau. Definitely a winnable game but the performances of the Stars so far doesn’t even inspire confidence, even if they qualify to the next round.
