The family of Castro have expressed disappointment in Black Stars general captain Asamoah Gyan over some comments he made about the disappearance of Castro and any eventual return.
Gyan had said that he believes Castro has died and would probably not be returning despite the hopes of his family.
However, speaking to Kofi Adoma Nwanwani, Castro’s father, Mr Cofie, said Gyan isn’t a family spokesperson so should refrain from speaking about issues concerning the family.
Castro’s father lamented that since his son died, Gyan has barely contacted the family either to check on them or for any other reason thus he should refrain from talking about Castro’s disappearance.
Concerning any potential return for his son, Mr Cofie said as a family they continue to hope, even after the police declare him legally dead in 2021 as expected.
Castro disappeared during a jet ski trip on the Volta Lake alongside Janet Bandu in 2014. He was part of a large vacation entourage which included Gyan, who was friends with him.
