As we mark the 5th anniversary of the disappearance of Ghanaian singer Castro and his female companion, Janet Bandu, their families have been speaking up and revealing the grief they’ve been dealing with since their disappearance.
Castro’s father, Mr Coffie, has already revealed his immense grief over his son’s disappearance, and for the father of Janet Bandu grief has apparently driven him to an early grave.
A sister of the missing Janet, Gifty, told Onua Fm in an interview that their father never got over his daughter’s premature death and grieved over her till the moment he died.
The elderly Mr Bandu died last month at the 37 Military Hospital.
“My father died on June 7th this year at the 37 Military Hospital. Whenever he sees me, he asks ‘where is your sister?’ and all the grief has led to his demise,” Gifty Bandu said sorrowfully said on Onua Fm.
“It hasn’t been easy for the family at all.”
Castro and Janet Bandu were on a jet ski trip when they disappeared over the Volta Lake on July 6th, 2014.
Their bodies have never been found and despite an occasional crazy person coming out to claim Castro is alive, it is widely understood that they have both passed away.
