Aside from roasting Kwesi Appiah for his incompetence, Ghanaians are actually not that bothered over the exit of the Black Stars from the African Cup of Nations.
In fact, many are happy that the Stars team wouldn’t have more winning bonuses to chop whilst they play lazy and boring football at the tournament.
And this is reflected on social media and in the kind of responses given to the elimination, including Nana Aba Anamoah’s call for the team to donate some of their winnings to charity to show their remorse instead of shedding crocodile tears.
Caleb Ekuban, who missed Ghana’s sole penalty at the tournament which kicked us out, is receiving some support from Ghanaians over missing the penalty.
A parody account of the player tweeted out that he’s sorry for missing the pen, but some Ghanaians are actually supporting him and happy he did miss.
One commenter wrote: “Thank you Ekuban, you just saved your country a huge sum of money. Bravo you patriotic son! You are our hero,”
