Shatta Wale was constantly mocked on social media because he never collaborated with any popular foreign artiste. He was referred to as the Local Champion.

Following his historic collaboration with the American female singer, Beyonce, Ghanaians decided to remove that local tag from his neck.

But when Shatta was engaged in an interview recently with Arnold Alavanyo Mensah on Vibe in 5, the Dancehall sensation stated that he still wants Ghanaians to tag him as their Village Champion.

“Are you still a local Champion?” Arnold Alavanyo Mensah asked.

Shatta Wale replied: “Oh yes! Am still and will forever be. I love to be a local Champion. Because of my Localness, Beyonce wants to enter my Locality.”
