Kumasi Asamponhene Killed Over Alleged Chieftaincy Dispute — Stabbed Multiple Times

The Asamponhene of the Ashanti Kingdom, Oheneba Kwadwo Fodour, has died after being stabbed multiple times by assailants in his car.

Oheneba Foduor was travelling on the Ejura-Nkoranza road when his car was intercepted and he was stabbed to death. His attackers reportedly tried to set his car ablaze after the deed.

Graphic Online reports police in the area received reports of a car accident on the road, but when they got there they found the stabbed chief.

His body was taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Morgue.

The Asamponhene was one of Otumfuor’s top chiefs as he’s in charge of war for the kingdom. He was also extremely popular in Kumasi as he owned one of the region’s liveliest pubs known as the X5 pub.

A police source told Graphic that his death may have been related to a chieftaincy dispute.
