President Nana Akufo-Addo has rejected criticisms that he has failed in the fight against corruption insisting he has shown enough commitment through actions taken by his government.
Speaking at the 2019 Conference of the Ghana Bar Association in Takoradi in the Western region, the president stated that his opponents are doing everything to tag his government as corrupt but “it won’t work.”
“I’m aware of the terms by my opponent to hang the tag of corruption on the necks of my government and myself despite all the manifested effort being made to deal with the phenomenon of corruption. I just have one simple answer for them, it won’t work.
“I did not come into public life to enrich myself. So far any alleged act of corruption levelled against my appointees have been investigated by independent bodies such as CHRAJ, CID and some cases by parliament itself,” he said.
