The four bodies found by the police in Takoradi at the beginning of last month have been confirmed to have been that of the four missing Takoradi girls.
DNA tests confirm that the bodies are those of the girls, police announced today.
The bodies of the infamously missing girls were found early August, exhumed from a septic tank at an uncompleted building at Kasawrodo in the Western Region.
After the bodies were found, there was a clamour for DNA tests to be held to ascertain that they were indeed that of the missing girls.
The Ag. Inspector of General of Police, Samuel Oppong Boanuh said at a press conference Monday that the families of the girls had been informed of the DNA tests which prove their children are deceased.
Police believe the girls were kidnapped by a kidnapping syndicate originating from Nigeria. Three people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping so far.
