A cardiologist, Dr. Abdul Sahmed Tanko has warned against eating too much salted tilapia popularly known as koobi and foul-smelly fish popularly called momone, as they can cause heart-related diseases.
According to him, there is too much salt in koobi and momone and it can cause damage to our hearts and should be eating in moderation.
“We put so much salt in our foods which is not good for our health. Excessive intake of ‘koobi’ and ‘momoni’ can also cause heart-related diseases and I advise against it. We have to eat them in moderation,” he said.
Dr. Sahmed Tanko was speaking at the launch of Worlds Heart Day in Accra, Head of Cardiology at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
