D-Black has finally revealed the reason behind his signature word “Yei” which he says in most of his songs.

According to the rapper the “YEI” is how his late grandma used to respond whenever he calls her. So he decided to use the “YEI” in his songs as a tribute to her since she was his best friend.
He told Kobby Kyei in a recent interview.
“This is my grandma, she died seven (7) years ago. She was like my best friend, she was that one person who will call me every day and pray for me every day and she’s a Ga, you know the Ga’s don’t say yes they say “YEI” so when she passed I just decided to use the YEI just to remind me of her,” he explained.
