The Akans have a proverb which says that ‘the animal which bites you comes from your own cloth’. Basically what it means is that those closest to you are sometimes those most dangerous to you.
We have examples of that every day in this incredibly difficult world, but one we’ve just heard about would break your heart and serve as a cautionary tale.

According to reports we’ve picked up, a young man who won the U.S Visa Lottery has died.
He was allegedly poisoned on the day he was supposed to travel, dying whilst on the plane to the U.S.
According to the IG blogger who shared the story, the boy was poisoned by a friend of the mother who was jealous of his success.
He wrote: Woman’s BFF Poisoned Her Son’s Food-He Died on The Plane
“The woman crying lost her son to the cold hands of death. Her son won the US Visa Lottery and they were travelling to the USA together. Her best friend gave them food and her son ate the food on the plane not knowing it was poisoned. He died when they arrived the USA.”
No wonder Africans don’t tell others when they’re travelling – you don’t what the witches to get you!
