Finally, Abednego Sackey’s prayers have been answered as he’s been provided with a full scholarship to further his education to the tertiary level.
A few days ago, GhanaCelebrities.Com reported about the plea of a young SHS lever, Sackey Abednego who was facing a real-life situation of having his dreams shattered because of money.
Abednego Sackey is a former science student of Kede Senior High School who had 7 ‘As’ and a ‘B’ but unfortunately lost his mother who was supporting his education. But for his bold step, he would have been a dropout!
Taken to social media, Abednego pleaded for the government’s support.
And through the help of some persons at the presidency, the government has come to the aid of the young man.
According to reports, the President has directed the Registrar of Scholarship Secretariat, Mr Kingsley Agyemang to provide a full scholarship and monthly stipend to Abednego to study Medicine at the Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science And Technology.
Also, the Registrar made a donation of GHC 1000.00 to Abednego and his auntie who were at the office.
Responding to the gesture, she said ‘I am even short of words. We thought all was lost. I want to say a big thank you to President Akufo-Addo and everyone who has helped my child to pursue his dreams. And to Mr Agyemang and the Scholarship Secretariat, I will want to say a big thank you’.
