Ghanaian highlife legend George Jahraa has joined the calls for the legalization of the ‘international herb’, marijuana, in Ghana.
Speaking on Adom Fm’s ‘Work and Happiness’, Jahraa invoked the name of Kofi Annan to make his case.
According to him, he doesn’t use the drug himself but if Kofi Annan wanted it legalized then who is he to argue?
“…I have never smoked before but Kofi Annan asked it to be decriminalized,” Jahraa said.
“I know someone who smokes but works very hard. We should listen to Kofi Annan, I think he was a knowledgeable person advocating for it so we should research on it,” he added.
Kofi Annan was a staunch advocate of the legalization of drugs during his life, arguing legalization and taxation was a much better option than jailing people for drug use.
