An American pastor faces life in prison, perhaps even worse, after killing his wife in a fit of rage over her leaving him.
Victor Mateo, 63, killed his estranged wife after stalking her outside her own apartment and committing her horrible murder in front of his own grandkids and horrified neighbours.
According to reports, Mateo, who was a pastor at The Redeemer Church in the New York City borough The Bronx, and his wife Noelia were separated for about a month.
He obviously was unhappy about it and one day decided to take action, parking his car in front of her apartment and waiting for her to come out.
She came out with a grandson and a granddaughter to take them to school, but he drove at her and hit her with the car.
As he tried to hit her again, she hid under her own car – which is when he got inside, drove her car and run her over again.
He then stabbed her numerous times with a machete whilst the children and horrified neighbours watched on.
His wife died from her injuries at the scene, and Victor escaped before law enforcement arrived.
He was arrested on October 10th and now faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
“We will pursue justice for the victim, as well as her family members who have been deeply traumatized by the terrible attack,” Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said after Victor’s arrest.
