Ghanaian Police Officer who doubles as a Gospel musician, ASP Kofi Sarpong, has emphatically stated that he’s the first Senior Police officer serving as an inspiration to his colleagues based on his successful musical career over the past 10 years.
Speaking in an interview with SVTV Africa at the launch of his new single ‘Messiah’, he said even though the police service has some musicians he is the first senior police officer to have a successful musical career which is commercial.
‘I’ve heard names like Ewurama Badu among others but she was part of a band. But as a senior police officer, I’m the first to have done music commercially and have a successful musical career, and also paving way for other police officers to follow,’ he said.
Speaking about his new single, he said he got the inspiration from what God did for him two years ago when he was involved in an accident and also sustaining him in the industry for the past 10 years.
“Yeah, I wrote this song myself. I got the inspiration after God delivered me from an accident I had two years ago and also sustaining me in this industry for the past ten years.”
ASP Kofi Sarpong has won many awards in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards VGMA, Ghana Music Awards UK and other internationally recognized award schemes with some hit songs like ‘African Borborbor’, ‘Agyenkwa’ among others.
