The Gold Coast Excellence Awards is returning for a ‘new and improved’ second edition after its successful debut earlier this year.
The 2020 Gold Coast Excellence Awards (GCEA) was launched earlier today at the Accra International Press Centre in Ridge.
Organizers NMJ Ghana have marginally retooled the scheme, adding some new categories and merging others from the maiden edition to make things more fair and balanced.
The decision to add some new categories and cut others is to enable other categories to be recognized and make the awards more streamlined.
The Gold Coast Excellence Awards scheme is to reward the highest levels of achievement in all sectors in Ghanaian industry.
Highly achieving businesses and personalities who have contributed immensely to positive change in the year under review would be eligible for pre-nomination.
The pre-nomination process is underway and would last till 10th January 2020. During this period, anyone can go online to the website www.goldcoastexcellenceawards.com to nominate a company or individual for the honour.
The reason for this, GCEA COO Mimi Andani-Michaels revealed at the launch, is that numerous people or companies are doing great work out there without being in the news.
By allowing anyone to nominate, some of these success stories who are not given media recognition would stand a chance of winning this prestigious award, making the GCEA a true grassroots awards show with wide appeal.
After the pre-nomination process is over, the award scheme’s highly efficient research team would research each nominee to verify their achievements and shortlist them.
On January 15th 2020, the final nominees list for the awards night would be released.
The date for the 2020 Gold Coast Excellence Awards has for now been tentatively set for March 21st, 2020.
