Nigeria’s legendary internet fraud figure Mompha appeared before court today after his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mompha, known for living a flashy life on social media flaunting massive wealth, was charged with money laundering and internet crime.
He’s accused of having swindled and laundered up to 33bn Naira.
Mompha pleaded not guilty and was remanded into police custody till Friday when his bail application would be heard and then the trial would officially start.
