MTN Ghana has been fined a whopping Ghc 110,000 by the National Communications Authority.
The fine comes after several network challenges by MTN which led to customers being unable to load bundles; and even for those who managed to load the bundles, they were given far less data than they were entitled to.
After days of complaints by bitter customers, the NCA stepped in and ordered MTN to reimburse customers for the data loss. They were also ordered to put together a report on what happened and submit it to the Authority.
MTN, however, failed to submit the report.
As punishment, the NCA announced a series of sanctions on the company and gave them a directive to comply or face more sanctions.
