A 16-year old girl in the Bronx, New York, who sparked a nationwide manhunt after being kidnapped right in front of her mother, actually staged the whole thing.
Karol Sanchez has been found by police after just a day, and according to new reporting, she staged the kidnapping with her boyfriend.
Karol reportedly wanted to spend some time with her 23-year-old gangster boyfriend, and this was the only way she could think of to get away from her presumably strict mother.
The video of Karol’s alleged kidnapping went viral, considering she was with her mom when she was picked up. It was literally every parent’s worst nightmare and it turns out it was staged for such silly purposes.
Karol reappeared late Tuesday and presented herself to police. Police are on the lookout for her boyfriend, a 23-year-old Crips gangbanger who was once arrested for murder and his other accomplices.
Police are yet to decide if charges would be filed against the 16-year-old girl.
