U.S President Donald Trump has been talking nonstop about curtailing immigration to the U.S, and he’s now taken action on one aspect of it.
It’s common knowledge that many expecting mothers with the means travel to the U.S to give birth because that entitles the child to citizenship.
In fact, many Ghanaian celebrities travel to either the U.S or sometimes Canada or the U.K to give birth.

It’s a practice Trump has complained about in the past and the U.S State Department have now implemented new rules to stop the practice.
“Visitors to the US will be denied temporary visas if it’s found that the primary purpose of travel is for obtaining US citizenship for a child by giving birth in the United States'”, a new State Department communique read.
The rules take effect today, January 24th 2019 and do not affect 39 mostly European countries the States have a visa waiver policy with.
