Deontay Wilder did not only lose the WBC heavyweight title yesterday but was rushed to the hospital after the match after sustaining serious injuries.
The heavyweight championship rematch between British boxer Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder saw Tyson delivering a dominant performance at the Las Vegas arena.
Reports show that Wilder was knocked out twice before suffering his first defeat in his boxing career to Tyson Fury in the seventh round.
The bout came to an end and Tyson Fury was crowned the new WBC heavyweight Champion by a technical Knockout (TKO). Wilder on the other hand was seen with blood coming from his left ear and mouth and had to be rushed to the hospital.
In the post-fight interview, Deontay Wilder’s trainer told the press: “He had a small cut inside the ear which may have affected his equilibrium so he’s going to get some stitches.”
