Are Female Celebrities Judged Harshly When It Comes to Dating?

Many women who happen to be unmarried in their thirties are deemed problematic or suspected to have character flaws that makes them undesirable.

Several female celebrities in the music and movie industry are single with some raising kids as well. Yvonne Okoro, Yvonne Nelson, Juliet Ibrahim, Joselyn Dumas, Jackie Appiah, “Delay” Deloris Frimpong, Lydia Forson, Nikki Samonas and Sister Debbie are all beautiful and accomplished women who are still single.

It is difficult to look at all these women and not wonder how none of them is married. Juliet Ibrahim is the only woman who was married once but have had some terrible relationships since then.

Juliet Ibrahim was embarrassed by her Nigerian ex with the guy admitting that she wanted to use her to be famous. Afia Schwarzenegger’s relationships are all over the internet including her husband finding her in bed with another man.

Many people on social media usually mock these women and throw shade at them but few male artists are subjected to similar insults and degradation.

Yvonne Nelson has become the poster girl for celebrities who “steal” other women’s husbands, but few ever talk about the allegations by the husband of Van Vicker’s manager. The man alleged that the actor had an affair with his wife and is the reason their marriage had problems and its subsequent collapse.  

Elikem Kumordzie is rumoured to have had an affair with former Blackstar’s footballer Nii Odartey Lamptey’s ex-wife. The actor is said to be the father of the couple’s last born. DNA test has shown that Odartey is not the father of the child and it is believed the couple split because of this. The likes of Moesha Buduong have perhaps made it easier for people to perceive female celebrities as people who exchange sexual favours for money. The actress has admitted on several platforms that she maintains her lifestyle by sleeping with a married man. Several female celebrities including Akuapem Poloo and Pamela Odamedo have all admitted to sleeping with men in exchange for funding their lifestyles.

 Relationships are difficult to maintain even without the scrutiny of the whole society therefore one can imagine what these celebrities go through.
