Ghana is not a serious country and the trending issue about Sammy and Nana Ama is the proof, a social media user has opined.
Since late Monday, the story of Sammy, who was heard crying uncontrollably after his girlfriend, Nana Ama, broke his heart, has been trending.
It took over Twitter all through Monday night and Tuesday, only dying down now.
During that same period, an accident occurred in Kintampo (again), killing over 30 people.
However, the attention and scale of emotion Ghanaians have put into the Sammy story is 100 times more than the attention paid to a road accident which took 3 dozen lives.
In light of that, a twitter user took to the platform to bash Ghanaians for having misplaced priorities.
“Country wey one college kid ein broken heart fit trend for 48 hours pass govt importing stones & kintampo road accident di33 u go see say we no be serious. Then you dey expect your innovation to blow? Lamoa,” he tweeted.
He’s got a point there, as most replies to his tweet seem to acknowledge.
