A few days after losing the mother of his children, Floyd Mayweather Jnr has been struck by tragedy once again.
The legendary boxer’s uncle and longtime trainer, Roger Mayweather, has died.
Roger was a boxing legend himself, a former two-time world champion.
He served as a trainer for Floyd Jnr as he became the best pound for pound boxer on the planet.
A statement from Mayweather promotions confirmed the sad news of Roger’s passing.
“My uncle was one of the most important people in my life inside and outside of the ring. Roger was a great champion and one of the best trainers in boxing. Unfortunately, his health was failing him for several years and now he can finally rest in peace.” Mayweather said.
“Roger meant the world to me, my father Floyd Sr., my uncle Jeff, our whole family, everyone in and around the Mayweather Boxing Gym and the entire boxing world. It is a terrible loss for all of us.”
