Minister of Finance for the German state of Hesse has committed suicide.
Thomas Schaefer was found dead near some railway tracks in Wiesbaden. His death has been ruled a suicide.

The state of Hesse houses the German city of Frankfurt, the country’s financial capital and a major player in the world economy.
According to Al Jazeera, Hesse Prime Minister Volker Bouffier said before his death, Schaefer had expressed immense concern over how the country will deal with the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus.
Bouffier said the deceased was ‘deeply worried’ about the financial impact of the virus and possibly contributed to his decision to take his own life.
“We are in shock, we are in disbelief and above all we are immensely sad,” Bouffier said in a recorded statement.
The coronavirus has really changed the world and shaped everything we do now.
Public gatherings have been banned, many countries are in lockdown and now apparently, it might even start causing suicides.
As some have said, this is the greatest global crisis since the 2nd world war.
