Someone definitely has been busy— whilst the world is dealing with Coronavirus, someone decided to make their way to a Dutch museum to steal a piece of art.
According to BBC, Van Gogh’s Spring Water which is on loan from the Groninger Museum no more hangs on where it ought to be.
The bad news follows after the museum was closed down because of Coronavirus.
According to the report, the Dutch health ministry reported 11,750 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country, and a total of 864 deaths which led to the force close of the museum.
“This is exactly what you don’t want as a museum that has a painting on loan.
“A beautiful and moving painting by one of our greatest painters, stolen from the community … This must come back as soon as possible so that we can enjoy and be comforted by this beautiful art again. Art deserves to be seen and shared by us, the community,” the museum manager said in an interview.
The Police reports that the break-in happened at the Singer Laren Museum at 03:15 local time (02:15 GMT).
