The king of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn has reportedly gone into self-isolation in company of 20 concubines.
According to reports, King Maha Vajiralongkorn flouted a lockdown in the Alpine resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen as he booked the whole Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl with ‘special permission’.
King Maha Vajiralongkorn, 67, reportedly checked into the hotel with 20 concubines even though he intended to self-isolate.
German tabloid Bild reports the king had intended to have a bigger celebration but 119 members of his entourage were forced to go back to Thailand amidst fear for the spread of Coronavirus.
The King has since been trending on Twitter with citizens hashtagging the phrase ‘Why do we need a king?’.
Meanwhile, Thailand foreign ministry and the embassy in Berlin have refused to comment when given the chance by the UK Times.
