A show from way back when, Ultimate Paradise was a phenomenon which was loved across all households.

George Williams cemented his future legend as Mr Addison in this show and it brought many future stars to the limelight including Brew Riverson Jnr, Kwame Sefa Kayi, Rama Brew, Akorfa Edjeani Asiedu and many others.

It kept people glued to their tv sets back then. Who wouldn’t love to spend some hours in quarantine catching up with these folks?

4 Taxi Driver

Psalm Adjetefio became ‘TT” due to this show. This series following Master Richards and a boisterous taxi driver known as TT and his constant shenanigans became a huge hit back then.

Aside Adjetefio and Mikki Osei Berko,, another big name people looked forward to seeing on this show was Pattington Papa Nii Papafio. He spoke English you’ve never heard before and will never hear again.

3 Things We Do for Love

Such lists of classic Ghanaian shows can never be complete without Things We Do for Love, the ultimate youth inclined tv show from the past.

The show shined a light on the antics of young people and unsurprisingly, was loved by the youth.

It also had a great cast including Adjetey Annan, Jackie Appiah, Majid Michel and others.

No one can say no to this show.

2 Akan Drama

No show was more of a family tradition back in the day than Akan Drama.

Families gathered around, literally, to watch this every weekend.

An old school show with old school storylines, it serves as a great look into the history, culture and traditions of Ghanaian society.

1 Keysoap Concert Party

The ultimate guilty pleasure, Keysoap concert party was a cultural and national phenomenon. Think of any legendary comic of the past 20-30 years and chances are they had their start on this show.

It was a simple show with a simple format – sketch comedy from local artists. It became one of the funniest, most enduring and ultimately arguably the best tv show this country has ever seen.

Some of the legends it produced included Bob Santo, Judas, Bob Okala, Nkommode, Agya Koo, Akrobeto and many, many others.

At this point, what do we need more than some laughs to lighten the mood? If only one show on this list could make it back to TV, this is the one we need.
