Born on July 16 1990 (Other sources say 1989) in Lagos, Wizkid was born to a Christian mother and a Muslim father. Known in real life as Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, the young star started following his mother to church, where he was offered the opportunity to sing at a very tender age.

Soon it became obvious that the “star boy” was destined for greatness. Before making his big break into stardom in 2009, Wizkid had formed a singing group with five of his Church friends, known as the “Glorious Five”.

Until he settled on the stage name Wizkid, he had already used other stage names like “Glorious Five” and “Lil Prinz”. After a successful collaboration with prominent musician M.I, the two artists produced the widely acclaimed track “fast money” which not only went ahead to produce many nominations and awards but also drew the attention of the industry to the “star boy”.

Since then, the talented musician has gone on to achieve internally acclaimed recognition following successful singles and features, both locally and internationally. Wizkid has had the privilege of working together with Drake, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, French Montana, Kranium etc. Wizkid has been nominated for several awards including MTV Europe Music Awards, American Music Awards, World Music Awards and Grammy Awards.

A career that has brought worldwide fame and international repute, the “Holla at your boy” hitmaker have also gained considerable wealth. Estimated to have a net worth of 14 million dollars, Wizkid is reported to charge about 6 million Naira per show. He also earns an additional source of money from his Starboy Entertainment Record Label.

A lover of flashy cars and expensive mansions, the multi-talented musician owns two grand mansions; one in Lekki Nigeria and another in Los Angeles in the United States. The mansion in Lekki is reportedly worth 70 million Naira.

Unsurprisingly, Wizkid has been linked with so many ladies since his career began to flourish. Popular among them are; Tonto Dikeh, Victoria Kimani, and Seyi Shay. He is currently rumoured to be dating US singer Justine Syke.
