North Korean Dictator, Kim Jong Un Alive And Well – South Korea Claims

Contrary to news circulated last week mostly by pro-American News outlets claiming that North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un is dead, the South Korean government has revealed that the North Korean leader is alive and well.

On Tuesday 28th April 2020, South Korea’s unification minister, Kim Yeon-Chul told lawmakers that ‘the government is aware of Kim Jong Un’s location,’ without explaining further. The minister said Kim Jong Un may be lying low to avoid catching coronavirus and not because he is gravely ill as was widely circulated.

North Korea is a country in East Asia constituting the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, with Pyongyang as its capital. In 1910, Korea was annexed by Imperial Japan. After the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II in 1945, Korea was divided into two zones, with the north occupied by the Soviet Union and the south occupied by the United States. Negotiations on reunification failed, and in 1948, separate governments were formed: the socialist Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the north, and the capitalist Republic of Korea in the south.

North Korea has since its inception been a country that is shrouded in so much mystery. Internet access is not generally available in North Korea. Only some high-level officials are allowed to access the global internet. In most universities, a small number of strictly monitored computers are provided. Other citizens may get access only to the country’s national intranet, called Kwangmyong. Content on Kwangmyong is curated by Korea Computer Center. Foreigners can access the internet using the 3G phone network.
