All 14 persons are said to have gathered in a house to perform the puberty rites, known as Dipo, with no regard for the directives on all forms of gatherings.

According to the Police, the suspects have been charged and granted bail to appear before the Somanya District Magistrate Court on Monday, May 4 2020.

The President said in his 7th update to the Nation that the ban on public gatherings is still in force even after the lifting of the partial lockdown. However, this directive appears to have been disregarded by many.
