Nigerian Media Personality, Toke Makinwa Encourages The Payment Of Tithes – Says Its A Way Of Partnering With God

Nigerian media personality, author and businesswoman Toke Makinwa has in a series of tweets revealed her belief in the payment of Tithes, describing it as a way of partnering with God.

According to her, though she believes that payment of Tithes is a personal conviction, she can’t help but boast in God, revealing that in every venture she has entered into, she has faithfully paid her Tithes.

Her post on Twitter read, ” The power of “first fruit”, while I think paying tithes/giving your first fruit is a personal journey/conviction, I can’t help but boast in God. Every business venture I have ever gone into, I pay my first fruit not because he needs it, but it’s my way of partnering with God”.

In another post, Makinwa tweeted, ” It is a personal thing, (Tithe/first fruit), but when he says “where there’s a casting down, there’ll be a lifting up”, he was talking about me, God takes my matter way too serious and I can’t thank him enough”.

The Subject of Tithing is one of the most controversial principles in the Bible which affects modern day Christianity. While many believe that payment of Tithes is required of every believer, many are also of the view that it is no longer relevant to contemporary Christianity and is only a means for Pastors to exploit their members.
