Nigerian Senate Votes To Suspend Launch of 5G Network Over Public Safety Concerns

The Nigerian Senate has outlined modalities to probe the 5G Communication network in the country. The Senate ordered the government to halt its proposed launch and mandate the relevant bodies to carry out an investigation into the network and report back within 4 weeks.

This happened after deliberations on a motion put forward by Senator Uche Ekwunife, drawing the attention of the senators to the status of the 5G Network in the country.

Supporting the motion, the Deputy Majority leader, Senator Ajayi Boroffice was of the view that the deployment of the Network was still a controversial issue, stressing that the experts should be allowed to analyze and identify the merits and demerits of its deployment.
