Coronavirus: Ghana Testing The Efficacy Of Famous Madagascar COVID-19 Herbal Potion, CVO As Possible Treatment For Infected Patients

The Government Of Ghana has revealed its intention to run a scientific analysis of the famous herbal potion which has been used by African Neighbours Madagascar to successfully treat its COVID-19 Patients. This disclosure was made at a Press conference jointly organized by the Ministries of Health and Information.

Last month, Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina officially launched the famous herbal potion called CVO, claiming that it can prevent while also curing patients already suffering from the novel coronavirus.

Mr Rajoelina also said on Monday that his government was already collaborating with foreign doctors and researchers for research possibilities of the Artemisia plant, the main component of CVO. He said the country was working on a new injectable solution of CVO also. “A pharmaceutical factory will be set up within a month to increase the production capacity of CVO. It will be administered in other forms such as injections,” said the president.

The Government of Ghana’s decision to allow the Food and Drugs Authority to scientifically ascertain the efficacy and safety of CVO is in line with government’s decision to test the effectiveness of Herbal medicine against the deadly virus.

It will be recalled that the Government had earlier expressed its intention to scientifically analyze the efficacy of Neem leaves and other herbal plants as a remedy for the dreaded disease.
