Earlier today, veteran broadcaster Caroline Sam announced that she was leaving Yfm after a decade with the company.
In her statement announcing her departure, Caroline said her contract ‘ended’ which is why she was leaving.
“Guys, Yfm has been my home for close to a decade now and we’ve had a successful working relationship. Effective Immediately, my contract with Yfm has ended and I’m no longer their employee. Thank You to Yfm and everyone that has supported my career over the years”. she wrote on Twitter.
However, despite putting a nice twist on what happened in her official statement, her own banter on Twitter has exposed her.
Caroline in a Twitter exchange admitted that her contract had been terminated and not ended as she rosily put in her statement.
Contract ending implies her time was up and they mutually decided to part ways but it appears she did not have a choice and was terminated.
In the midst of this pandemic, many media companies in the country are downsizing and it seems the biggest names who probably command the highest salaries and deliver little value for money are the ones being axed.
Maybe Caroline and Naa Ashorkor can form their own media conglomerate now lol.
