Celebrated Nigerian musician Wizkid, has come under ‘heavy fire’ on Twitter after he took to the microblogging network to celebrate his first son, Boluwatife who turned 9 today.

‘Naija no dey joke’ is a popular local Nigerian adage normally used in local parlance to describe the typical no-nonsense Nigerian attitude. Nobody but Wizkid would have understood that popular adage better by now as ‘Naija’ descended heavily on him despite his status as one of the Country’s topmost entertainers.

The singer tweeted, “My first love is 9! Wow! Boluwatife mi”.

In August 2011, Nigerian Entertainment Today reported Wizkid fathered his first child at the age of 21. After a thorough investigation, the newspaper concluded Wizkid impregnated then-undergraduate student Shola Ogudu.

When the story broke out, close friends and associates of Wizkid didn’t confirm the story due to DNA results that were pending at the time. In October 2013, he uploaded a picture of he and his then 2-year-old son, Boluwatife Balogun, onto his Instagram account, confirming the earlier rumours. Wizkid has two other sons with 2 different women.
