The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the incumbent government, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wuntumi has disclosed that former President John Mahama would be jailed before the December elections.
The politician has alleged on his own television station, Wuntumi TV that he strongly believes that former President Mahama would go to jail for at least 10 years if he is tried on the Airbus scandal.
‘Before December 7 polls, Mahama and others in NDC would have been tried and jailed for their alleged corruption in the Airbus scandal.‘ he said.
The Airbus scandal is about the sales of some planes to some countries from plane developers, Airbus SE.
According to reports, it involved the ploy of intermediaries who influenced key personalities in those countries to get Airbus SE to run the sales.
It’s been reported that the company from the beginning of this year has entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) with the Serious Fraud Office of the UK to prevent criminal prosecutions.
In court in Ghana, some government officials with coded names have been fingered for being involved in the fraudulent purchasing of some military airbus.
Commenting on that, Chairman Wuntumi has said, ‘I know for sure that if the Airbus scandal is investigated properly, the former President and other former appointees could be jailed ten years,’
