Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe‘s ex-husband, Lanre Gentry has debunked rumors that he is married and was throwing shade at Mercy a few days ago.
According to him, he can simply not fathom why Nigerians are obsessed with him getting married to someone else.

A few days ago, Lanre made headlines when he shared a picture all of a lady people assumed was his wife as he celebrated her birthday.
We all thought he has gotten married and has already moved on from everything Mercy Aigbe but we were wrong.
Lanre in an interview with Punch has revealed that he is not married and the lady he shared is his brother’s wife whom Mercy knows very well.
He said; ”I don’t know why some Nigerians are quick to jump to conclusions when they see innocent and harmless posts online. Mercy Aigbe knows the lady I celebrated very well.
“This is not the first time that people have speculated that I’ve married another woman based on social media posts. It seems a lot of people are just obsessed with marriage for me. I’m a Yoruba man and if I want to marry another wife, I would do that”

Lanre says he maintains a very healthy relationship with Mercy and anytime they want to talk and meet they do soo with no hesitation at all.
” I and Mercy are not fighting. If I want to see her, I would call her and if she needs anything, she also calls me.
“We have a good rapport. God has the final say over our relationship and He knows how it would turn out in the future. I take care of my children. I can’t speak for other fathers but I carry out my responsibilities as a man.
I still see Mercy as a part of me. It’s only a mentally unstable man that would leave a woman with children to go and fend for herself.”
Mercy and Lanre‘s seven years old marriage packed in 2017 on the grounds of domestic violence—we don’t know if she wants to go back to it.
