Did Yvonne Nelson Intentionally Have A “Light” Baby?

Published by

Semi-retired actress and film producer Yvonne Nelson has been parading her beautiful daughter on social media and any place that will have her even though she denied her pregnancy when it was first reported by

Yvonne like many women in the entertainment industry have allegedly bleached her skin to further her career. Unfortunately, she lives in a society where the lighter shade is much appreciated than the darker shade. Prominent musicians such as Daddy Lumba, Nana Acheampong, Becca and Ama Boahemaa who blamed condensed milk for the change in her skin tone have all succumbed to the pressures of looking light.

Many women in Ghana bleach their kids from the very day they are born but from afar it seems Yvonne wanted to protect her child from the grips of bleaching. In order to guarantee the lightness of her child, Yvonne apparently decided to say no to black guys and procreate with a British man. Although kids born to interracial parents can look like either parents or the shades in between, one could probably guess the prayers of Yvonne when she was waiting to see her child for the first time.

The relationship between Yvonne and Jamie the baby daddy was short lived, but one can see that Yvonne got what she wanted. Think about it, the ex-wife of Jamie Roberts claimed that Yvonne started seeing him while they were still together. The pregnancy happened shortly or during the divorce proceedings and in less than two years after the childbirth, the relationship was over – that smells of someone using the other to achieve their goal.

Skin bleaching is a pandemic that affects many people in our country from rich to poor, educated to uneducated, religious to atheist therefore it needs a grassroot approach to eradicate. If Bukom Banku can fall victim to the cold hands of bleaching, then God help us all.
