Reigning Ghanaian Internet sensation, and self-acclaimed face of Ghana Rap, AY Poyoo has dismissed assertions of name theft levelled against him by Hon. Aponkye.
A few days ago, former assemblyman aspirant for Adukrom Nima Electoral Area, Ibrahim Issah Ampim, popularly referred to as Hon. Aponkye accused AY Poyoo of stealing his name, “Aponkye” (which translates in English as a goat)
Hon. Aponkye even threatened to sue AY Poyoo, claiming that the name Aponkye was given to him by his grandfather since 2004, and is his registered right, hence, AY should have sought his consent before calling himself the real Goat.
However, appearing as a guest on ETV’s Late Night Celebrity Chat Show with Foster Romanus, AY Poyoo expressed his surprise at why an individual will decide to fight over the name of an animal.
AY Poyoo bursting with laughter, rhetorically quizzed, “How can we be fighting over an animal? An animal name that we have claimed for ourselves, how can we be fighting over that? He should take the other goat. Me too I’m taking the other goat. That’s all”.
