The latest episode of Accra floods occurred today, June 9th 2020 after rains which started last night hit the capital.

The capital flooded following the rains as has become tradition during every year’s rainy season.

The floods affected areas around Adabraka Sahara, Adabraka Timbaland, Adabraka Aponkye, Odorna, Kingsby Junction, Graphic Road, Agbgbloshie, Odaw, Avenor, Dansoman and Achimota, among others.

According to reports, garbage has been carried from drains into open towns due to the rains and the filth Accra is filled with.

It’s worse than an eyesore as on top of properties lost due to the floods people also have to deal with filth being carried by floods into their habitats.
