According to the group, based on its research, it has detected some anomalies in the official government data which they believe cannot be a true reflection of the situation on the ground.
Though according to official government data, the number of deaths currently stands at 54, the group claims this cannot be true. “the reported 54 deaths so far cannot be right. For instance, even though 38 deaths have been reported from the Ashanti Region alone, less than 20 of those deaths are included in the national count!”. The report said.
The group issued a warning that “if the public suspects under-reporting, etc, there will be a loss of trust in the reporting system and that will have consequences that will influence public behavioral responses.”
