Actor and NDC parliamentary candidate in the Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW) constituency, John Dumelo, has alleged that the AWW Assembly ordered him to stop dredging gutters in the constituency.
Dumelo revealed on Twitter that his recent efforts to dredge some gutters in West Legon has been stopped by the Assembly, seemingly for their political benefit.
A fan of the actor asked him on Twitter about reports that he’s been asked to stop dredging the gutters.
“@johndumelo1 I heard the Ayawaso West Asssmbly told you to stop the dredging of the West Legon Gutters. True?” Afua Dagati tweeted at him.
Dumelo simply responded: ‘Yep’.
This development has some social media users up in arms over the political games being played with the development of the people.
“I get headache by force ,you no do am ,someone is doing it too. ..problem. Should he wait for people to die before. What koraa is this …Ghana,” one twitter user replied.
Dumelo a few weeks back started dredging some gutters within the AWW constituency. Whilst the exercise seemed designed for his political benefit, there’s no doubt it had practical benefits and stopping it prematurely for simply political reasons seems counterproductive.
