After conducting an assessment of the complaint, the national regulator said they did not record any interference as Joy Fm claimed.
The NCA received a complaint from Joy 99.7 Fm that Asaase Radio, 99.5Fm, was interfering with their frequency.
After an investigation, the NCA dismissed the complaint.
“There was no interference recorded at the locations the monitoring was conducted; i.e. North Legon, Kwabenya-Abuom, Pokuase-Mayera, Tabora, Lapaz, Dansoman-Control and Exhibition, Dansoman First Stop, Dansoman Akukor-Foto and Mateheko,” an NCA report said.
Joy Fm, instead, where directed by the NCA to fix an equipment problem to clean up their own signal.
“Joy FM should be directed to install a three-stage cavity filter with a minimum attenuation of 40Db and maximum deviation of +75kHz.” the report added.
