Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson, who has somehow turned into a very fierce advocate on social media in recent times, has lamented how Africans seem to have fallen deeply into colonialism.
According to her, even the very people who are educated and should know better are rather caged by colonialism and that is a worrying feature for the people of Africa.
The actress’ comments are in relation to the wig worn by lawyers and judges when they are in the courtroom, suggesting that it is a colonial practice.
In a post on Twitter, she wrote, “Something def wrong with the continent. I had this argument 3 months ago with @MysterGabby x @fdee50 its embarrassing! The most educated can’t even break free from colonialism. Colonialism caged the African brain. We just can’t let go!”
