A social media user has slammed the ongoing voter registration exercise being rammed down the throats of Ghanaians by Jean Mensa and the Electoral Commission in the midst of a pandemic.

In a post on Twitter, the user notes how the same government who a few months ago was telling Ghanaians to stay home at all costs is now encouraging us to go out and register.

Meanwhile, the pandemic which made us stay home has far worse numbers now than it did then.

Mawuli Tsikata in a tweet on social media wrote: “We’ve moved from #StayAtHome to #GetOutAndRegister. That’s how far we’ve come as a nation in this COVID era! Very sad for my homeland Ghana,”

The government’s decision to go ahead with compiling a new voter’s register is reckless and irresponsible and only being made for political expediency.

This one tweet illustrates that very well – Ghana has no future if these are the kind of leaders we have to deal with.
