According to actor Obi Czer his colleague actor Richard Mofe Damijo known popularly known as RMD is single-handedly behind the collapse of Nollywood.
According to Obi, he charged way too low to star in a movie all because he claimed he was fueled by passion.
To Czer, if someone as known and talented as RMD is charging way less for starring in a movie, what would the likes of him, who are just coming up charge.?
He wrote;
“I love this man when I was growing up as a kid but after joining Nollywood and standing up for what was right in Nollywood I found out that this man was among the architects who killed Nollywood, RMD was collecting mere 250K-400K just to be in movies, he might say he’s doing it for passion because he loves acting but he was killing the industry with such salary when he was meant to be collecting 5,000,000 per movie.
“If RMD collects 250K-400K per movie then tell me how much a lower actor will collect per movie? He killed Nollywood in the name of passion instead of Business”.

He feels by what RMD did, producers and moviemakers tend to offer them peanuts because they always play the comparison card.
Fans think he is over his head for making such an assumption while others asked him to go and produce his own movie.
