Social media users are outraged after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced during his latest speech that restrictions placed on public transport vehicles have been lifted.
That means trotros can now revert to fully packing their cars as it was before the coronavirus pandemic arrived.
The bone of contention for most Ghanaians, myself included, is that transport fares were recently increased to allow drivers recoup revenues they were losing due to being forced to take in fewer passengers.
Yet with the restrictions being lifted, Ghanaians still have to pay the increased fares – it makes zero sense!
Social media this morning is filled with outraged Ghanaians attacking the President over his decision.
Some people say they are willing to keep the restricted numbers and pay more to remain safe, others maintain if the restrictions are being lifted then prices MUST be reduced to previous levels.
All are in agreement that the decision is bogus.
