Nigerian Artiste Sentenced to Death for Committing the Imaginary Crime of Blasphemy Against Prophet Mohammed

A musician in Northern Nigeria has been sentenced to death for committing the imaginary crime of blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed.

Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, 22, was found guilty of blaspheming against the Prophet Mohammed by a Sharia court in Nigeria’s northern state of Kano and sentenced to death, the BBC reports.

The sentence is subject to approval by the Kano state governor, which is unlikely to occur.

According to the BBC, Yahaya composed a song praising an imam from the Tijaniya Muslim brotherhood. His so-called blasphemy is because the song praised the imam too much and elevated him above Mohammed.

Have you ever heard something more nonsensical in your life? If someone is accused of blasphemy, my first thought would be that he said something against the entire religion, but this guy is even facing death when he’s a Muslim and praising an Islamic imam!

This tells you all you need to know about the absurdity of religion. Blasphemy is an imaginary crime because as far as we all know Mohammed is not around to show his offence and Allah has never come down to punish anyone for blasphemy.

It’s always some mentally constipated individuals carrying out what they think is God’s will with no recourse to logic.

Thankfully, the BBC’s report notes that whilst Sharia courts pass such sentences of death, the sentences are rarely carried out.

Still, Yahaya will remain in custody indefinitely and he must be released! He’s done nothing wrong but release a song praising an Islamic imam! This is the height of stupidity, wickedness and mental incapacity.
